In August, Zapper took part in three events with different audiences and conversations: Rio Innovation Week, Expo Compliance and Startup Summit. What they had in common was an important point for companies that use business WhatsApp for sales and support: managing the channel has to evolve alongside the operation.

The conversations covered artificial intelligence, preserving history, governance, security and growth. More than isolated trends, these topics show what happens when WhatsApp stops being just a communication tool and takes a central role in the company's daily routine.

Below, we gather the main lessons we took away from the events and how they connect to the challenges of corporate operations.

Rio Innovation Week: AI needs context to deliver results

From August 4 to 7, 2026, Zapper was at Rio Innovation Week, following discussions on innovation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

In the conversations about business communication, one point stood out: applying conversational intelligence on WhatsApp only creates value when the technology has access to the necessary context and is connected to well-defined processes.

Automating isolated steps can speed up replies, but it doesn't fix a fragmented operation. To support decisions and expand team capacity, artificial intelligence needs to be integrated with interaction history, operational data and human involvement at the right moments.

Expo Compliance: governance on business WhatsApp needs to be part of the routine

From August 18 to 20, Zapper took part in Expo Compliance with a booth for all three days of the event. The event brought the company closer to compliance, technology, legal and management professionals who deal every day with the impact of WhatsApp on corporate operations.

On the 19th, Fred Groth, Zapper's founder, and Thais Sperle led the workshop "Governance on Business WhatsApp". The discussion showed that speed and governance don't have to compete: the challenge is to create criteria, processes and records that keep pace with the speed of conversations.

Among the points that came up most often were:

Built into the routine, governance organizes responsibilities, reduces dependence on scattered information and gives the company more security to grow.

Startup Summit: growth also requires structure

From August 26 to 28, Zapper was in Florianópolis for Startup Summit. Conversations with founders, executives and ecosystem leaders put scale at the center of the discussion.

When a company grows, the volume of contacts, the number of conversations, the sales opportunities and the number of people using WhatsApp all increase. If channel management doesn't keep up, growth also magnifies the loss of context, the scattering of history and the difficulty of seeing what is happening in the operation.

Scaling, therefore, doesn't depend only on adding people or tools. It takes consistent processes, centralized information and visibility so that leadership can identify bottlenecks and make decisions based on what really happens in conversations.

That is why optimizing your company's professional WhatsApp needs to be part of the growth plan itself.

Three events, one shared point

Rio Innovation Week put artificial intelligence on the agenda. Expo Compliance deepened the discussion on governance. Startup Summit brought the challenge of scale. Along different paths, all three events arrived at the same question: companies are expanding their use of WhatsApp faster than they are structuring the management of that channel.

When WhatsApp plays a central role in sales and support, it can't depend on scattered information, informal processes or decisions made without data. Managing business WhatsApp needs to preserve history, give teams context and let the company grow with more efficiency and security.

That is where Zapper comes in, helping companies structure their corporate use of WhatsApp with governance, intelligence and operational continuity.

If WhatsApp is already central to your company's sales or support, it's worth identifying where the operation still loses context, visibility or efficiency.
